Frankia and Casuarina obesa (swamp sheoak) trials
Avongro Inc is trialing a way to make it easier for landholders to succeed at establishing commercially promising native timber crops on saline land by inoculating seedlings with the nitrogen-fixing bacteria Frankia in the months before planting. Read the details of our two trial sites at Aldersyde and Goomalling in the two reports below, or get a briefer project snapshot in the ‘Avongro frankia and swamp sheoak trials’ fact sheet and/or ‘Avongro trials nitrogen fixing bacteria in saline farmland agroforestry’ media release [PDF or DOCX].
